Each one should use whatever gift he has received to serve others, faithfully administering God’s grace in its various forms.” The thunderous pounding of feet, clods of earth flying, youthful voices yelling to one another as with one accord, every muscle, every sense intent on the goal, the players function as a unit – this was the image that sprung to my mind as I sat in the hairdresser’s chair yesterday. Jamie, my hairdresser, had been chatting about her weekend’s activities, which included watching one of her teenagers in a soccer game. She contrasted the fun of watching “little tykes” play, hearing the coach yelling out instructions to them, with watching her teenager’s team. No longer was it just th
